Talents are lovely traditions to pass from generation to generation. My Grandma crocheted a baby afghan for each grandchild and she made numerous other hats, gloves, and throws for gifts. I have made a baby afghan for each of my 2 grandchildren. It's a fun connection to family, past, present and future. My friends have similar traditions going on in their families.
Julie has created an ensemble of "Grandma Gifts' for her visit to her kids and grandkids this month. There's a yellow hat and monkey for the "Curious George" fan. A dragon with a stomach pocket for eaten victims. And pretty purse and bonnet any girl would adore. Julie also crochets delicate snowflake tree ornaments for her family. Beautiful!
Sally sends the sewing machine whirling whipping up adorable Nursery fashions for her brand new granddaughter, Lola. I love this idea because it helps the new mother; it lets you be connected with the new baby; and you get to share your talents with posterity. Inspiring friends!
I am a happily married mom of 5 kids (now 8 with daughters-in-law) and 2 grandkids with 2 more on the way. I have learned through the years that life is good, but life is better if we work at it.
"Nobody can do for little children what Grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children."

"The Hawk & the Jewel" by Lori Wick. This is the 1st book of the Kensington series by Lori Wick. These are light fiction but they are Christian faith books. I appreciate the clean reading even if it's not sophisticated writing. There's a good story and reliance on faith in Christ. Fun to read.
"A Heart Like His" by Virginia Pearce. This is an inspiring account of an experiment Sister Pearce and a group of other women took on to nurture their hearts to be like the Savior's heart. Non fiction.
Nick of Time. An Adventure Through Time by Ted Bell. Every kid wants to make a difference for good. This is a great story about exactly that. Great reading for 4-6 graders.
